About us
Support Ontario Schools is a parent-led advocacy group. We believe Ontario's publicly funded education system is essential for our children and our communities. Right now it's under serious strain: staffing shortages, rising violence in schools, chronic underfunding, and threats to democratic oversight. We're here to bring parents together to support educators and demand better.
What we stand for
- A strong, well-funded public education system for every student.
- Safe and supportive learning and working conditions for students and staff.
- Adequate staffing and resources so schools can meet the needs of all learners.
- Democratic, locally accountable governance of schools.
Who we are not
Support Ontario Schools is not a union. We are not affiliated with any political party. We are parents and community members who support the work of teachers, education workers, and campaigns such as Building Better Schools (an ETFO campaign) and OECTA's education advocacy. We link to and encourage participation in their actions.
